Helping women, couples, teens and parents find hope and healing is my passion.
Kelly Shaughnessy, MA, LPCC
Individual Therapy
Everyone has seasons in life where they are struggling and need help. I provide a supportive and nonjudgemental space to receive support and healing for anxiety, depression, life changes (such as divorce, birth, marriage, moving, new jobs), loss, trauma, emotional regulation, relationships problems and even general goal setting. I believe the key to life satisfaction is identifying your core values and then working to align your behaviors and decisions with those values.
Couples Counseling
I enjoy working with married or dating couples. Working on relationships can be hard; couples sessions can improve communication and empathy, reduce conflict and help establish goals for the relationship. All types of couples are welcome and encouraged to engage in counseling to strengthen your relationship.
Teens and Adolescents
Life as a teen is both challenging and exciting. It is a time for personal growth and exploration. Often teens feel misunderstood and need support to navigate feelings of anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. Teens also need support to know how to face difficult topics in their peer relationships like drug use, sexual activity, sexual and gender identity, peer pressure and conflicts with friends. I love working with teens and can be an open, caring and nonjudgemental adult in your life to help support you through these challenging years.
Parent/Teen Couples Counseling
One of the hardest times in the parent/child relationship is during the teen years. Teens are needing to separate from their parents and find their own identity but aren’t yet adults, and parents often get lost in how to communicate and connect with their teen during these years. Parent/teen counseling sessions can help open communication and empathy, reduce conflict and improve connection.

Kelly is a talented therapist, who is able to reach a diverse population of people with compassion and skill. Her ability to give her attention and grasp the issue at hand is comforting and refreshing. I always feel understood and empowered after speaking with her.
